Odile's heart began to flutter in her chest as she arrived at the beach, her nerves rattled at what she was going to do. She had been on the island for two years, and she kept to herself since she had very interaction when she was in the outside world. She had managed to make friends with a kelpie named Libby whom she considered a big sister of sorts, but that wasn't the reason she was here. The reason was one day while she was flying over the ocean, she spotted a rather handsome looking gentleman who happened to be a kelpie.
She had been watching him from a far for quite sometime, being content with just being able to look, but lately, she hadn't been satisfied with just that. She wanted to get to know him better, perhaps become friends. 'Perhaps maybe more' she thought, a pink hue flaring on her cheeks. However, nothing of the sort would come about if she didn't work up enough courage to talk to him.
She sat down on the beach. smoothing out the skirt of her dress which was one of the few bits of clothing she had. As she waited with baited breath, her mind was buzzing as to what she would say. 'Hi, my name is Odile and it's very nice to meet you' you thought with a nod as she noticed someone coming her way. As the figure got closer, she felt her breath hitch in her throat, and her mind went blank from nervousness.
She trembled as he finally approached, her cheeks were fully red and the only thing she could get out was, "Um hi." She wanted to smack herself for being so silly. 'Um hi, is that really all I can say' she thought, wanting to run away in embarrassment, but decided to keep up her courage.

Coming up out of the water for some fresh air, his body slowly turned from that of a jet black horse to a man with long wavy red hair. His brown eyes knew this spot well, since he had taken up residence here. As a kelpie, he couldn't be without water for very long unless he'd made the choice to become human permanently, so he'd chosen to stay here, near the water since he knew no other way of living. His human name was Kelan McNair, and he was originally from Scotland, having the rather thick Highlander accent to prove it. Most considered kelpies to be evil since they tended to coax humans into riding thier horse forms and then drag them into the water, drowning them and taking thier energy or flesh for themselves. He personally thought this to be disgusting and abhorable, but if he needed to do this, he would, if only to survive until he got back home. Since he had no idea when that would be, he would need to make other plans, no matter how much he hated it. As he came up onto the beach, thakfully fully clothed, he spotted a rather bonnie young lass eyeing him with a smile. Nodding to her politely, an action that strongly resembled the nod of a horse, he heard her speak to him, her voice sounding nervous and shy to his sensitive ears. He had no idea what this lass' name was, but he would soon find out. "Greetings, lass," he replied, smiling warmly. "And how are ye on this fine day? Doing well, I hope?"At this point, he prayed a stray wind didn't blow and show her exactly what he wore under his kilt - which was all of nothing. His family's tartan colors of blue, red, and dark green criss-crossed each other, decorating the fabric, and his chest, which was rather pale due to his pureblood heritage, was only covered by a black undershirt, something he wasn't terribly used to. At home, he only wore a strap that held his sheath on his back, allowing him to carry his claymore.. something he was all too unhappy to find himself without. ((sorry for the wait! ^^; )

"Um yes, I..I'm doing well" she said shyly, still trying to get her wits about her. She couldn't believe he was actually talking to her, but she couldn't help feeling butterflies flutter around in her stomach. She had heard her sister speak of feelings like this before, but she never felt it herself. 'I think she called it a "crush"' she thought to herself.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, it's terribly rude not to introduce myself, My name is Odile Drosselmeyer. May I ask what yours is?" she said, almost saying it too fast because she was nervous. She couldn't help, but notice his style of dress and accent. 'Scottish I'm guessing, and it suits him' she thought with a small smile. She still couldn't believe it finally happened, that she was finally talking to him after watching him from afar for so long.
"I also must apologize for being so shy and silly, I don't talk to many people here on the island not to mention I've never interacted with anyone who isn't a shifter or human" she said bashfully. She felt a bit ridiculous for saying such things, but she felt the need to explain herself being a complete goof. She wanted to give a proper impression, and not screw things up like she was scared she'd do half of the time.

His smile widened as he nodded to her politely, acknowledging her response. "Well now.. tha's verra good," he told her, a slight laugh to his tone. "If ye weren'a doing well, I'd be verra concerned. 'Tis nae good for a lass to be anythin' but happy." His thick Scottish accent rode his soft voice hard, sometimes making him hard to understand, but he hoped he'd gotten his point across.
He walked up from the water that lapped at his heels, making his way across the near white sand that separated them. His long, intensely curly, fire red hair swayed in the wind, brushing against his back and coming up and around to softly land across his shoulder. His dark brown eyes shone with an inner light as she introduced herself. Odile Drosselmeyer.. German, nae? If she isn't, it could simply be a name, he thought. "Odile.. lovely name. I am Kelan.. Kelan McNair. 'Tis lovely to meet such a bonnie lass as yerself."
He shook his head, the wind blowing his air back over his shoulder again. "Nae, doona be sorry, lass. I'm glad I finally met ye," he said, giving a nervous laugh. "I've been seeing how ye watch me every day," he admitted, his cheeks growing warm as they turned nearly as red as his hair, "and I'd be lyin if I said I wasna curious as to why." He came up the beach a bit more to sit beside her, sitting with his legs folded under him.. Indian-styled, some called it.. to be assured that a stray wind wouldn't lift his kilt and show her everything he currently possessed in the way of manhood.

"It's a pleasure to meet you to Kelan" she said, trying hard to make sure her rosy cheeks weren't so noticeable. She couldn't believe he noticed her which just made her feel incredibly silly, but the fact he was curious made her heart leap in her throat.
"Well" she said nervously, twirling a lock of black hair around her hair, "I'm not sure myself. I just know that one day, I was flying over this place, and I caught sight of you. I felt a very odd feeling, something I never felt before. My heart was beating so hard I thought it'd break my ribs, and my stomach was all in a tangled knot. And I only felt that way when I saw you. I still don't know what this feeling is."
She took a breath to calm herself before she continued, "I didn't approach you because I was scared. I was satisfied with seeing you from afar, but soon, it wasn't enough. I wanted to get to know you perhaps become close as friends." She spoke her words from the heart, and as she spoke, her blue eyes never lost contact with his dark brown ones. She felt anxiousness rising, unsure on how he'd react to her feelings.

He listened patiently as she spoke of watching him and how she'd felt when she'd done so, and he nodded gently, smiling softly as she described what he could only label as love or some other sort of infatuation. He couldn't say if he had ever been in love himself, but he was sure he'd remember if he had been, with how it was always described. One's heartbeat was to speed up, their faces turned red, they would stumble in speaking, and they were never sure of what to do around someone they had these feelings for. Aye, he was sure that he would remember something like that.. and he didn't.. but around this lass, one was apt to feel something, if not all of that.
"Aye, my grandfather would call that love, but I canna say for certain that that's what it is since I've never felt it myself. I've always been a warrior, ye kin? Far too busy protecting my homeland to go chasing lovely young lasses around." The males in his family ever since the time of his great-great-grandfather had been Highland warriors, and as the eldest male child of his father, he was expected to fill that position as well. As such, he hadn't had time to relax and simply be himself since he was younger, and getting to do anything he liked here on the island was beginning to show him just what he'd missed. Unfortunately, he knew this would be short lived once he figured out how to get out of here.. and as good a swimmer as he was, he had no idea where Scotland was from here, so he couldn't just go out into the ocean and start off in any one direction.
Bringing his mind back to the present moment, he nodded again. "Aye, we can. I'd like that verra much, lass. I've yet to find any other water horses here, and it was starting to get a wee bit lonely and boring," he admitted with a slight laugh. "So yer last name.. Drosselmeyer.. what country are ye from? I'd guess German, but I'm not quite sure. I'm Scottish myself.. if ye could'na tell.. though just my accent is enough to give it away."

Odile smiled and slowly felt herself relaxing a bit. Though when he mentioned what she could be feeling her heart leaped a bit. 'Love, so this is what it feels like' she thought, her cheeks staining a pink hue once more. "I really didn't do much chasing after boys myself. I didn't get out much" she said shyly, her stuttering beginning to cease as she got more comfortable around him.
"I haven't met many people, I'm pretty shy, and this is a bit of an intimidating place. I will say it's nice to meet someone else" she said in a cheerful tone.
When he asked if she was German she nodded. "I was born there though I'm a bit French from my mother's side. She used to be top ballerina is a theater group there" she said, "I tried to learn, but I'm not as good as my sister." At mention of her family, she wanted to know a bit about his. "Do you have any siblings?" she asked with curiosity in her voice and eyes. She wanted to know more about this man. He seemed so nice and gentle unlike some of the island's residents that she had witnessed.
