Talbot felt bad abandoning the young man that had approached her, but as she pushed through the crowd at the fesitival. Her dress fluttered around her legs, the slippers on her feet padding softly against the earthened as she moved along, weaving between people as amber eyes sought to keep the pale older woman in her view. She couldn't say really why she was so urgently following her, but what Ophelia had said about owing her answers. It was the tease, that was all she needed, that was the only reason she'd come to this fesitval in the first place.
For the briefest moment she lost sight of Ophelia, and as she stepped out into a quieter area of the festival she found herself looking around for the other. The lanterns glowed warmly as she slowed her pace, a hand moving to smooth her dress down as she glanced around at the few people who milled about away from the excitement going on closer to the witch. It was quieter here, the soft sounds of the island floating lightly through. She liked the silence, it let her calm down, let her think...
"Ophelia..." Talbot spoke up softly moving beneath a tree, the branches decorated with low hanging lanterns as she move around slowly still seeking out the woman who had tempted her away from the large crowds to simply hear what she has to say to her. After her fight with Nero she'd been more hesistant to leave herself unguard, but there was something about Ophelia that put her at ease even now.

Ophelia smiled as she watched from behind a near by tree as Talbot was looking for her. 'She really is too cute' she thought as she slipped from her hiding place. "So, I owe you a lot of explanations and answers, my dear" she said, leaning against the trunk of the tree. "First, that man was right about this island, most of us were brought here against our will in some form or another. I myself was caught in a plane crash, and I was washed up on shore. You're a very rare case, being able to come to the island freely," as she spoke, she walked over to Talbot until she was right in front of her.
"Second is that the blond waif with the black wolf is the witch on the island, and while he may look harmless, he has a great amount of power. Had you not attended, you could have been in serious trouble because if you disobey the witch, you will suffer for it" she added, looking into Talbot's eyes to make sure she understood the seriousness of this all.
"The last perhaps being the most unbelievable is not everyone here is human. Sure, we may all appear to be, but many of us here aren't. Some are incubi or sucubi, others are shape shifters, then there are the kelpies, and lastly are vampires" she said. She didn't want to reveal what she was quite yet until she knew how Talbot would react to hearing of non-humans on the island. "I will say although I did want to give you this information, I did have some selfish motives" she murmured softly, running her long fingers down Talbot's cheeks.

The voice behind her made Talbot start a little, her body tensing as she turned around to face the other. She did her best not to show that Ophelia had given her a bit of a fright just hearing her come from out of the blue. Lifting her hand up she brushed back the loose curls that fell from the bun. "Answers would be nice. I really don't like being left in the dark."
Ophelia's explanation of people who had come to this island was something that Talbot had begun to realize on her own, but now it was confirmed by the other's own story of how she got her. "Even my journey here ended up with me finding this place on accident. I just knew I had to go a certain direction. Even I don't have answers to where I am exactly." Out of habit one hand went to her side though no pocket was there, the letter she often didn't let out of her sight left at her home and out of the hands of a witch in case she was ever found out about.
When the topic of the Witch was brought up Talbot only shook her head, looking away for a moment off towards what was going at the center of the party. "The Witch doesn't scare me Ophelia, not at all. It's her wolf..." She replied softly, not sure how to go on further about it. By the time she was told of non-humans on the island she was well aware of the present of those who were less than human, and already she'd begun to question her own humanity. "I know all to well that people here aren't human. I still don't completely believe it. That man, he turns into a wolf, that black wolf...he kills people on this island for no other reason than just to kill. He tired to-"
Silence settled in as she felt Ophelia's touch. Amber eyes met the other's gaze as she gave a small sigh, head turning in towards the touch, taking comfort in it. How long had it been since she had human contact like this? Comforting, not trying to inflict pain on her, or add to the bruises on her body, "I'm getting use to secrets while I've been here...even I have my own." Whatever they are... She said mentally to herself as she reached up and took Ophelia's hand.
"Not that I'm not thankful, but what are your motivations for telling me all of this? I may have money, but that's useless here...I have no sway...I have nothing but what I've brought with me to this place. So what reason do you have for giving me all of this?"

"Let's just say I'm a chartiable woman who has an extremely soft spot for cute young girls like yourself" she said in a sensual tone, "seeing you looking so lost and innocent stirs something in me. What kind of person would I be to not help you?" She chose her words very carefully, enough not to scare her off yet enough to make what motive she had for her. However, the words Talbot nearly spoke caught her interest. "Tell me, was it that black wolf who made those bruises because if so, I'll rip him apart for doing so" she said in a low voice, keeping her anger in check since she didn't want to scare Talbot.
However, she decided to let her anger go, and focus on what she originally planned to do. "Just know my dear, you will always have an ally and friend on this island. I'll always be here to offer you anything you need" she whispered into her ear, placing a soft kiss on her cheek.
It was a bold move on Ophelia's part, she was used to girls tripping over their heels for her without much effort, but this was different. 'And I quite like it' she though with a sly smile on her face.

Talbot stopped for a moment, pulling away as Ophelia called her "innocent", "lost"...Amber eyes grew darker as she stepped back a little further. She felt that dark feeling again, as if something unfurled inside of her, like a cat stretching as it woke up. "I'm not lost." She defended, arms wrapping around herself, "And I don't think I'm as innocent as you'd like to think I am. There are things that you don't know about me...that I'm just beginning to figure out." It wasn't anger, but it was frustrating for Talbot to be defined when she couldn't even figure out what was happening to her.
"Ophelia..." The woman's threat towards the wolf made her relax a little more. She gave a very small nod in response to her question of her injuries, "He attacked me, last thing I remember is him turning into a wolf and charging at me. I woke up covered in cuts and bruises, my clothes were scraps...but I was alive still. He was going to kill me, but something happened that made him run off. Leave him alone, if this witch is as cruel as you say he is then attacking someone who is basically guarding him would probably end poorly for the both of us. My pride is not on the line. Better alive than dead."
Moving back towards Ophelia she smiled, glad to hear the promise of an ally on this island. "I am always grateful for any help that I can get..." Her voice faded off, anything else she was going to say lost to the wind as she felt the kiss. A soft blush rose into her cheeks. Pulling back again she met the other woman's gaze for a moment before looking away.
"Thank you." Her voice was softer now, "I am you ally as well if you ever need one. I'm not the strongest person, but I have my skills." The small kiss had left her a little unbalanced, caught off guard by such an intimate gesture, not sure how to really react to it as she ran her hands down her dress again, finding someway to distract herself.
"You know a lot about this island...how long have you been stuck here?"

"I've been here for quite a few years though I've lost track of time since it really doesn't mean much to me" she said, a small smile forming on her face as she noted the blush on Talbot's cheeks. 'It just makes me want her all the more' she thought. "I do apologize if my words before offended you, making assumptions about you" she said softly, glancing over at her.
"I'm not just being helpful to be altruistic, I did give you this information to get you away from that man. I hate to say, but the green eyed monster reared it's ugly head when I saw how he was looking at you" she said coyly. She wondered if Talbot would understand she was a jealous that the man was looking at her with lust because she herself wanted her badly.
Though she wasn't sure if Talbot was attracted to women or not, but she was known for being able to woo other women into her bed. Though it had been years since she'd done such things with survival being her priority on this island, she figured that it's been far too long going without fun.

"You don't have to apologize. I just don't like being told who I am when I've been searching for an answer on my own for so long. Do you know how it is not to know who you are?" She asked, waving off the apology as she placed her hands on her hips. Anxious was the best way to describe her right then. "I've been here for a few weeks, and all I've manage to figure out is that this place has a lot of secrets ad isn't too keen on giving up answers."
She wanted to tell Ophelia that the man she'd been talking to was no danger...just someone who sought out another person to flirt, to joke with. "Jealous of him because he was looking? I don't mind looking...as long as he's not looking to kill me I-" she stopped short, growing silent as she gave a small sigh.
"So you're jealous of him staring? Or are you jealous because I was giving my attention to him?" She asked, leaning back just a little bit, her arms crossing over her stomach...a relaxed position as she studied Ophelia. "Are you telling me this information because you think I would somehow desire you more? Is this some ploy to get me into bed?"
Suddenly she found herself in a place Talbot often tried to keep herself out of. Throughout her life back home she had many friends, but never any lovers, anyone too serious. Talbot's thoughts were always somewhere else , too focused outside of her own life to realize that someone else wanted more from her than simply being around her. It wasn't that she wasn't attracted to women, or that she didn't find Ophelia very alluring, it was just that in this place she didn't know how well she could trust her feelings and the people around her despite how much she wanted to. Ophelia was a lovely woman, and the interest she showed brought a warmth flowing through the girl's body that she'd not often felt. However, Talbot had no idea what desires lingered behind that gaze.
The blush remained in her cheeks as the girl looked down at the ground, "I'm not sure you want to be getting too closely involved with me. I've got one enemy already, and a strong one Ophelia. I'm not safe, and that goes double for anyone around me who wants to stay close." It wasn't a threat, or a warning, but a concern as she brushed her fingers down her skirt, playing idly with the lace as she kept her focus down, not willing to meet the woman's gaze after what she'd just said.
