CHARACTERS' PASTS!

This isn't so much of a game as it is... since we don't have a "history" section in profiles, I figured some people would like to share their characters' pasts if they knew them.

l i l i t h

Before Lilith existed, Chord d'Antoine existed. Chord was the antithesis to Lilith. He was nice and quiet, a bit shy, and pure at heart. He'd never had a relationship, much less sex when he was 18, despite going to a school that was very corrupt. He avoided people and really didn't have many friends aside from his roommate and bestfriend, and even then he was distant. ...He also read tarot cards and had a fascination with seancing and with the cult. But he'd never actually summoned spirits (though he was convinced he had). Whatever the case, a Homecoming dance with destroyed, students injured, and Chord was one of three students kidnapped.

It was due to Chord's kidnappers forcing a spirit into his body that was not his that caused his soul to split. All of his magical inclination he'd had was gone and reborn into the form of Lilith.

When Lilith awoke, it was on this island. He was the island's only resident until Nero showed up and soon after Leandro. But he didn't meet them until he was nearly attacked by a vampire as a young witch. Nero saw his potential and protecting him. The two have been inseperable sense, and Lilith has awakened to his own bloody thirsty nature.

Shaun was born to a wealthy politician and his wife. He had one older brother named James-- for most of his life, he was relatively normal. That is, until a lab result during a yearly check up diagnosed him with childhood leukemia. He took treatments and for awhile it seemed like they would work, but after only a year he stopped responding to them. He's only estimated to live until his 17, which makes him understandably down.

He actually arrived on the island when his family's private plane crashed in the ocean. James was not aboard, but he and his family washed on shore. His parents were killed by some of La Peste Negra's pack, but Lilith stepped in and told Leandro to take Shaun.

He was placed under Leandro's care per Lilith's instructions, and the witch has watched the young shifter grow fond of his human companion as time goes by. You don't see him without Leandro, though you might see Leandro with him. He's not allowed out of the Tarot Shoppe by himself.

Lucifer was the last sibling of purgatory born thousands of years ago. She lived in her palace in the realm of pride. She was doted on by Wrath and was easily his favorite, which made her sister Envy... well... envious. Envy was trying to knock her sister down from her prideful horse when Lucifer was killed during the prank. Envy tried to hide it, and so far none of the siblings know that it was inadvertantly Envy's fault that Lucifer died. ... Though since a sibling of purgatory can't die, she was simply banished to earth to live in a damned human's life.

This human was Yaten Mudo, a girl with white hair and white skin with Lucifer's crimson eyes. Her mother died in childbirth, and she was left in the care of her extremely wealthy father (he had yakuza connections and owned the largest global pharmicutical company). In her first few years she was left neglected in the care of nannies while her father remarried a woman with two sons, none of whom liked her.

However, her father was a broken man that had became twisted and corrupt after losing his wife. He was physically abusive to his new wife and sons in the beginning, but as Yaten got older his attention turned towards her for she looked a lot like her mother, save for the pigmentation of her body. The abuse grew into sexual when she was still quite young, and her stepmother never made an attempt to stop it-- even going so far as to encourage her husband so that she wouldn't have to face his wrath.

When Yaten was thrown overboard her father's private cruiseship, she thought she was dead, but instead she washed up on Ivory's shores. To her, coming to this desertted island is a welcome relief.

discord & cathedral

Cathedral has a more interesting history than Discord, but their histories are tied together. When Cathedral and Discord were playing on rocks when they were still rather young, Cathedral slipped fell, and broke her neck on the rocks below. Discord ran to get help...

And the daimon Subterfuge saw her chance to escape the gates of hell. She possessed the child's body, and when Cathedral suddenly gained conciousness, her parents (and the paramedics) were very confused. Discord, otherwise, had a very normal middleclass life.

Until he got swept the water's current with Cathedral while they were playing in the ocean. Cathedral ran away when she woke up and realized her heart was no longer beating, and Discord thinks she's disappeared.

Subterfuge realizes that the human's body can no longer host her and is dying... so she's trying to avoid her brother as she waits for her human death to come.

Mayoi is cute, cuddly, etc. She had a normal life with her boyfriend and nothing exciting happened until they both went parasailing and their rope got cut. After they fell into the water, they blacked out and found themselves here on Ivory.

Her boyfriend was killed by a vampire... but Mayoi doesn't know this, and she's starting to trust Haru a little too much.

Stasja, too, had a normal life, so there's nothing to elaborate on here. He came to this island after a boat he was in sank. And as soon as he washed up on shore and went hunting for civilization, he was pounced upon by a large wolf-- when the wolf shifted into a man, he claimed him, changed him into a shifter, and mated with him.

This man was Rhafe Larzen, and alpha wolf. At first, Stasja was very upset and didn't let Rhafe near him, but eventually they mated again-- and this time, Lilith interferred. Stasja is now pregnant with Rhafe's children (pups?), and he's warmed up to his mate, seeking protection from him and trying to take care of his unborn children.

Ciel grew up as an ordinary boy in France. He was kidnapped when he was fifteen years old and was part of the project conducted to make synthetic shifters. For four years he was a labrat, being poked and prodded by machinery, observed for changed, and nearly meeting his death as his body changed.

But he was the fist successful experitment. 0.013 (Number 13). His DNA is spliced with a shifter and that of the most endangered feline in the world. He awoke on the shore with no clue how he got there, and now he's starting to realize that no one there is like him.

Mi Hye was born a shifter- a small orange tabby kitten. His parents were shifters, of course-- he grew up in Seoul, South Korea with them, and had a normal life. He was very bright and always did the best in school, for that he didn't have very many friends. But he still kept his chin up.

He arrived on the island after he was pulled out to sea by a riptide. When he did... he changed into his kitten form and hid. He actually hid for days until Discord washed up and he was picked up by the boy who has since cared for him. He preferred being a kitten- he didn't have to be social.

However, during the storm he got separated from Discord and the twins... and now here he is.

ODILE DROSSELMEYER

Odile was the second of the triplets to be born to a former ballerina prima donna and a moderately wealthy business man. While her sister, Odette was showered with attention from their parents for her shifter form and ballet talent, Odile lived in her shadow not only not being good at ballet, but having the form of a black swan, seen as a bad omen in her family for several years. It was only her brother Siegfried that she got any sort of familial love from. However, their parents passed away in a car accident when they were twelve. The triplets were sent to live with their uncle. Odette tried several times to steal their brother's attention until one day she shifted to fly in the air. However, there was a hunter who spotted her, and shot her.

Siegfried quickly shifted to his form, taking the bullet and getting seriously injured. Odile, angered at he selfishness of her sister, decided to leave in order to train to take revenge however as she was coming back after being away for five years, her boat was destroyed in a storm and she found herself on the island, using what she learned to survive.

OPHELIA WINTHER

They say that the root of evil isn't selfish need but boredom and there is no better example than Ophelia. Ophelia was a noblewoman born in Denmark, living as many women of her status, learning to be the proper wife and mother. These things didn't appeal to her in the least bit, and longed for something different. In her teens, she found that something different in her personal servant, Anna who became her first sexual experience and lover. She does many things with her, but once she discovered the words of one Marquis de Sade, her tastes grew darker, and enjoyed causing pain.

It was through this, she began hiring young servant girls who seem to disappear. What really happens is she tortures them to death, ending up using their bodies to make sick little trinkets like shrunken heads and using their skins as book covers. She however used her beauty and charm to get away with her crimes until she met a nobleman who had the same taste for pain she did. He was impressed by her cruelty, deciding she would make for a perfect companion. After she was turned, they traveled together, killing men (his victims) and women (her victims) until they parted ways many years ago. Ophelia was on a plane when it crashed a bit away from Ivory which is where she resided for quite a few years.

MARA TOLMACH a.k.a LEVIATHAN

Leviathan is the second youngest of the siblings born into the realm of hell. For the longest time, she has held a deep love for her brother but once Lucifer was born, her dreams of being his were shattered, but she still tried even if Lucifer outshone her. She always felt inadequate next to Lucifer, and it ate away at her until one day she decided to take her down a peg. She had taken one of Lucifer's prized possessions, hiding it high in a tree. This harmless prank turned deadly as Lucifer died only to be reborn on Earth.

Leviathan, although disliking her sister, felt bad for causing such a horrible thing, and covered it up. She also unknown even to her, has developed feelings for Belphegor who was the sibling she was closest to.

NATALIA LIEBERT

Natalia was a child conceived in fear. Her father, a poor Russian college student and her mother, a east German woman were forced to partake in an eugenics experiment led by her father who once served as a SS officer in WWII who wished to fulfill his leader's dream of a master race. Her mother, Tatiana being three months pregnant fled from South America were these experiments were being held, to Soviet Russia before the Iron Curtain was drawn in order to be safe.

Once Natalia was born, she suffered from postpartum psychosis and had to be sent to an institution which caused Natalia to be sent to an orphanage. One of her grandfather's men found her, and took her to South America to continue with their goal. However when it was discovered she had hypopituitarism, her grandfather threw her out on the street. Being a young blond worked in her favor as she used her body to survive. She caught the eye of a drug lord who saw use of her being a mule, a prostitute, and assassin since no one would suspect a young child (which is what she has been doing before she came to the island). Once she had honed her charisma, and killing skills, she took revenge on her grandfather for causing suffering for herself and her parents. She was involved in a plane crash that led her to this island.

They told Ghost about 1989, the 'summer of love'. They smiled, acting as if it brought up fond memories as they searched through their scrapbooks. In many ways, it was, it did begin that way; so seemingly perfect, the only place it oculd go is downhill.

Elsie Alice White, the priest's daughter, a tiny brunette who's delicate and dainty body was the desire of her tiny Southern California town's population of young men and the envy of the young women. Her big, luminous green eyes were enchanting, to say the least.

She met Jack Dante Vigrid on summer vacation, the first time her father had let her do so by herself, thinking she'd be safe in the company of her friends. It was a night of firsts for Elsie, as she stumbled around drunkedly amongst the boardwalks, and everything about the place seemed so tempting to the young Elsie, from the beautiful lights of the boardwalk to the boys who inhabited it.

Then she met Jack, a bad boy, clad in a leather jacket and a motorcycle to go with it. Whilst all the other boys were oggling her, he was the only one who truly seemed to not care, his eyes invisible beneath his shades. She wasn't sure what intentions she had, but right now, she didn't care. All the nice boys never had any effect on her; It was him who she wanted, as she leapt onto his motorcycle over the cries of her friends.

They had sex. In an old, abandoned house, the blues of the night just enough for them to see eachother. He had taken her virginity, her purity; He had to be special, right? He had to be the one, right? She tried to reason with herself, thinking of the words she'd said to her father. That's when Jack changed. There he was, a snarling grey wolf with eyes like moonlight, his teeth bared and ready to kill her.

Elsie didn't know what came over her, but she did too, her bones painfully pouring into the body of a doe. She shrieked in pain, as she looked up in the sky, a full moon. Jack had been planning to kill her since they got there. Now that he knew that she was one as well, he couldn't very well do it in good concious. So, they both shifted back.

Elsie laid beside him for hours, wondering how she could have become something so "otherwordly". As her father would say, "unholy". Her fingers ran over a bruise, a bite by a previous boyfriend, though no further than that. She sat up, and as soon as she saw that Jack was asleep, she cried. She cried her eyes out, and she knew it wouldn't be the first time.

Jack wasn't prepared to be a father. He had just met this girl, and he was supposed to just drop everything and love her, start a family? Hell, he had been planning splatter her baout the walls just seconds before.

Ghost Emma Vigrid was born into a world that looked nice, a nice little suburbs of Santa Cruz. But she was born into a world that hated her and eachother; her father despising her for taking away his freedom and her mother for being a living interpretation of the worst mistake in her life. The shifter was always weak as a child, frail, and sickly; she didn't have the rural setting that others of her species so desperatly needed. Her eysight was bad, causing her to wear glasses throughout most of her childhood and constantly be home sick from school, but usually simply because she couldn't stand another day of teasing by her classmates because of her awkward appearance and shy attitude. She fell asleep every night to the sound of her parents fighting and the sound of yelps and shrieks that were less than human. It scared her at first, but soon enough it became as normal as the sound of her breathing, simply fading away into the background.

Soon enough, she found herself on this island, no real explanation for it. Ghost is a bit weaker then other shifters, having grown up in a more urbanized setting, so she tends to hang around the others instead of going alone.

She was a boring human, a boring mortal to any resident on the island. She didn't have superpowers where she could change into an animal, she didn't drink blood or scare the living daylights out of everyone. She wasn't like that lot at all. No she was just simple Channler Grace Evermore.

She was born on a muggy july evening to Jenna and Major Thompson Evermore. She was of course expected to be what she was not. Channler was suppose to be the perfect daughter to complete the perfect family. Her father was a military man and Channler quickly learned to hold her tongue and do as she was told unless she wanted a lashing. I can't say that Channler ever had anything exciting or terribly wretched that it left an impression. She really was just an average little girl.

At age seven her mother gave birth to her little brother Kodi. They were close just like any siblings even with the age difference. Kodi wasn't pressured as much as Channler to do the right thing. He got away with more stuff then the girl and she resented him slightly for this. But when the sibling's mother found out that their father was cheating on her with some other woman at his base Channler sucked it up her resentment for Kodi and together they supported each other through the rocky year of their parents' downfall.

After the divorce Channler's mother was merciless. She told her children they must be the best they could, and now expected even more. An A- wasn't even tolerated anymore neither was losing a soccer match or hanging out with your friends unsupervised. This change had been subtle under the years but now around Channler's 18th birthday they grew more noticeable. No sleep overs, no movies no nothing but studying or practicing the cello for Channler and soccer for Kodi.

Channler managed a year of it before she snapped. She had lied to her mother and told her she was going to the library when really she was going to hang out with her friends Marci and Rob. Her mother walked in when Channler was about to kiss Rob. The punishment was swift, a slap to the face and the embarrased Channler backpededling into a wall trapped by the red puffy face of a monster. Before anything else unfolded Channler blacked out and woke up her torso on sand and her legs being pulled at by water. One moment she was in England and the next she was at Ivory Island.
