ROLE PLAY SAMPLE:It had taken a lot of energy to get from camp to the river, at least for Ashroad. His bad leg made everything difficult, which was why he could never be a full warrior. Littlestar had granted him a warrior name with the promise he could still hunt and try to improve. Of course, he would not be permitted in any battles, for his combative skills were worse than his hunting skills! But, he didn't complain about this. He understood Littlestar's decision. Actually, he hadn't even expected those privileges. What always caused hm so much anger was the leg itself. StarClan had cursed him with the crippled hind leg he had been born with. Gingernight, the former medicine cat and his mother, had said to him before it was her fault for having kits while she was still a medicine cat. But, Ashroad never blamed his mother. It was all StarClan's doing. They had the choice to curse him. It was more a punishment to himself than to Gingernight. StarClan was cruel. The young dark gray tom had lost all respect for them long ago.
He was sitting by the edge of the river, water rushing rapidly with the dark bodies of fish visible beneath the surface. His silvery blue eyes narrowed in disgust. He would never be able to fish for fear he would fall into the water. He couldn't swim. That was obvious enough. Ashroad sighed and curled his fluffy tail around his large paws. He wouldn't be out here very long. He wanted to go and visit his son in the nursery. When Batcry had vanished without warning, Ashroad had been completely devastated. Their other son Eclipsekit had been taken with Batcry while Breezekit had been left. Midnightrose, Ashroad's older half-sister, took in Breezekit with her own litter. Another sigh escaped from the dark gray tom as he thought of Breezekit's upcoming apprentice ceremony. He was growing so swiftly.
Ashroad needed to stop thinking so depressingly, but he couldn't help himself. Breezekit was his life, and he didn't want him growing into a warrior with the risk of dying in battle or catching a deadly sickness or any of the dangerous things that came with Clan life. He was not like most fathers. No, Ashroad had this over protectiveness towards Breezekit. Midnightrose was always telling him he needed to let up on him, or he'd have a very dull and coddled life. But, in Ashroad's mind, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. As long as he was safe. As long as he wouldn't leave him, like Batcry.
The role play example is from a Warriors forum called Survivor Cats Reformation.
