Seventeen years in the making and now he didn’t even know any of it, not any of his own past except what had happened surrounded by those horrid walls. His mother, his grandmother, and even his own twin brother now completely unattached to him since he barely knew they existed while they all thought he was dead if they weren’t already dead themselves. That was all his past life and this was a new one with a whole different body with it own positives and quirks that came along with it.
Now he was out here surrounded by such large trees that stood so much taller then him. Rein didn’t question how he had gotten here so much considering for as far as he could remember his memory had always been spotty, not knowing that it wasn’t actually his own body’s fault. He moved through the underbrush slowly, those rabbit feet of his causing his steps to have a bit of a odd hop in them as he walked on what would be considered the balls of his feet. He knew his steps weren’t normal, he had seen the scientist walk around their steps so steady and actually able to wear shoes upon them unlike him. Though he knew he was Rein, however much that meant, but it was something he could call his own.
He jumped slightly at the sound of something else and he hid but nothing showed itself, no friend or foe. So, he moved back out from under the small bush he had practically thrown himself into trying to remember why he was out here in the first place. He didn’t know, didn’t know anything at all, he stared up at the sky as he continued to move once again. The boy making shapes out of the clouds a small smile on his face as his odd steps moved him forward. There was a bird, something that resembled a cat maybe, and that was as far as he got as those sensitive large ears had picked up on something else. A whole new noise, something that sounded to weigh a lot more then the maker of the last noise. Rein hid behind the only thing his eye could find, a tree, it wasn’t the best but it would have to do.
His right side of his face peeking out from behind the tree since his left eye was now forever covered in that milky white shield in front of that deep brown eye. Rein’s heart felt like it was ready to beat right out of his chest with all the fear he now held but still he held onto some of his humanity with that human curiosity of who or what it was that made such a noise. His last hope was that those odd feet of his wouldn’t fail him and he would be able to run if need be.

Raphael had been tickled pink when she was told she was able to go onto the island at last. It took much begging on her part to allow her up since her elder siblings felt she'd blow their cover. 'They have such little faith in me' she thought with a small frown as she picked some wild flowers that grew within the woods. So far, she enjoyed the feeling of the sun against her skin which was one of the many things that she missed.
She was walking idly when she heard a noise that startled her, causing her to drop her flowers. 'Oh dear' she thought as she began to gather them once more. She was hoping to perhaps gather enough to give each sibling a bouquet. Sure, she knew that they could easily be annoyed by her chirpy, sweet nature, but she couldn't help it. It's just how she was wired. She heard another sound, and this time only froze in fright. It was something she was told that dangerous creatures lived in the woods, and if she wasn't careful, she'd get hurt.
'I guess I should be heading back' she thought as she began to head towards the lab. As she passed a bush, she noticed something in the bushes which caused a slender eyebrow to raise. She got on her knees, and pushed the branches aside, nearly gasping at what she saw. 'An experiment, he must have escaped.' Trying hard to regain her voice, she looked up at the young man and said, "Hello there, please don't be afraid, I'm not going to hurt you. I can probably even help you even if you'll let me. My name is Roxanne Snow, and may I ask for your name?"
She chewed on her lip, and closed her eyes. She expected to perhaps be snapped at or spoken to coldly like with the experiments that were still trapped in the lab yet she didn't let this deter her. She was the angel of kindness, and what could be kinder than to offer friendship and a helping hand to someone in need.

Could your heart really beat out of your chest? Just take all that freight and take flight? Well, with the way his own heart felt he was quite sure he would find out soon enough since he was not sure how much of that statement was myth. That was when that woman had stuck her face into his hiding space and his already frightened heart only seemed to beat more against its cage of bone like it was telling him to run. Rein jumped up easily going a couple feet into the air, a feat that any normal person would have trouble doing when it was just a simple scared jump from him. It had been proved through test that he had been put through and that little jump was small by rein standards with all those records of it.
The boy now stood with his back against a tree watching the woman, not trusting her words for a moment. It wasn't hard to believe that he had trust issues considering his current state and it was proven as his hand clutch into the bark and his rabbit toes dug into the dirt, ready to spring at any moment. His flicked his head quickly getting a better look at the woman, that brown eye and white eye watching her as best they could just watching for that moment when she would strike.
Why wouldn't she want to attack? He had realized that rabbits were far from the toughest thing out there and he was just for that improved hearing and all that strength he now held in his legs and feet. Rein tensed waiting for her to move forward with those words just to distract him, yes thats all they were for, distraction to attack him. Well, he wasn't going down that easy. Roxanne just stayed where she was, a bit of hurt flashing in her eyes when she opened them at last as she saw the fear within his brown eye where as his other was clouded by a cataract. 'That poor thing, he's so terrified of me' she thought to herself. She knew he had every reason to distrust her. To him, she was just a strange girl who could possibly harm or kill him. She took a deep breath, and said, "I see you're uncomfortable with me so why don't I stay where I am, and perhaps try an earn your trust even if it will quite a task." She looked down at her bouquet, and pulled out a daisy along with an iris, both flowers meaning friendship which is what she wished to offer this poor young man, holding them out for him to reach.
"These are for you" she said gently, giving him a kind smile. As she sat where she was, she began to take a closer look at him. He had long floppy ears which she found quite adorable, and large rabbit feet that dug in the dirt, ready to spring if she were to startle him any further. Normally she would be incredibly forward with her friendliness, but she learned that sometimes it takes a little time and patience with some people. "Are you able to speak at all? I'd really like to get to know you" she said softly and soothingly.
"Though perhaps it would be better if I told you a bit about myself or at least as much as I'm able to, in order to break the ice as people say. I don't really remember how I came here. One moment, I was at my home with all my brothers and sisters then the next I'm in a cold, sterile place with tons of strange people. A very scary man came to us, telling us he was our master, but he doesn't seem right" she said with a frown, "and for the longest time I wasn't allow here, but I recently got some freedom." She hoped that perhaps her opening up to him will put him at ease a bit.

Rein watched the woman refusing to move away from the thick tree's trunk. His eyes flickered to a higher branch as his sensitive ears picked up a bug moving around above. All six of its little black legs moving it across the rough bark. As he watched he almost forgot about the woman his hands starting to slowly let go of the bark, but then she spoke to him again and his head moved back to watching her.
She offered him the flowers but Rein wouldn't move his hand away from the bark where it now rested against and not digging into. He tilted his head to the side and his nose crinkled trying to understand her, figure out what her motive was. At the thought his head moved quickly from side to side looking for accomplices waiting to attack while she distracted him.
He edged away from the tree but refusing to let it go, right now it was the only thing keeping him sane at all. That tiny tail of his twitched behind his back as he tried to keep alert for her accomplices. He looked around again, his ears only moving up slightly at their bases underneath that long hair since he never gained all the muscles to be able to move them like a normal rabbit could. "Why?"It was the only word he spoke after she had said so much and yet it was all he needed. Why was she being so nice? Why hadn't she tried to kill him yet? Why was she trying to distract him? Why was she talking to him? That simple little question meaning so much more to him then it probably would to her. In This Sweet Maddness

Roxanne tilted her head when she heard his question yet it was one she understood, loud and clear. Of course he'd wonder why she was trying to be friends with him. He was a scared, timid bunny who was in a strange place where danger lurked around every corner. With a gentle smile, she began to speak to him, "So many questions in that one word that I don't know where to start."
She took a deep sigh to clear her head before she continued. "The reason why is because everyone on this Earth deserves to be shown kindness whether it's in grand deeds or something simple. I'm someone who can see a person in front of me who could really use a friend."
Her happy go lucky outward kindness seemed to have dimmed a bit to be replaced with a wisdom for someone far beyond her years. 'Well not really' she thought to herself as she continued to get what she had to say organized in her head. "I don't expect you to trust me right off the bat, you have no reason to, but I want to rightfully earn it so we can be friends, and so you have at least one person you know will be here for you" she said, speaking directly from her heart.
"However, whether you want to trust me and get to know me is your choice. All I can do is prove to you I don't want to hurt you, and that what I say is true. You're free to leave at any time, I won't stop you if that's your wish" she said gently, looking down so he wouldn't see the sadness in her eyes. Though she realized not everyone will like her, hell being alive for so long taught her that, the thought was still one thing that bothered her. She sat still and silent, her fingers fiddling with the remaining flowers by her side.

He watched now utterly confused with the woman that sat in front of him. She still had yet to attack him and there had been no ambush, maybe his paranoid nature was not always spot on but he had felt something different from that woman that he took as something dangerous.
He squatted down, still balancing on his toes as his fingers now brushed against the ground. Rein had moved from the tree, but that little tail was still able to brush up against it. It didn't make much sense that he found comfort in the tree, maybe because it was so solid and strong he wasn't quite sure. Rein looked back at the woman again after being distracted by the tree and the way his fingers moved over the ground. The cool dirt and dead leaves felt so odd, no he wanted to try to understand the one before him.
"I..," Rein tilted his head to the side trying to study him more, "I don't understand." Again he used words meaning more than one thing. He couldn't understand why no one had attacked, why he was still breathing, why she was trying. This world he had woken up in just continued to scare and confuse him all at once. Again, so much said with very few words something that took Roxanne back a bit. "I know you don't, but I will do all I can to help you understand. I know there's a lot out here that can cause harm or death if you're not careful even some of the people can do that, but not all people here are out to harm. I don't want to hurt you, all I'd like to do is become friends" she said earnestly, looking at him intently to show her seriousness and honesty. After all, as humans would say, eyes are windows to the soul.
She dare not make any move to get closer to the young man, not wanting to frighten him off. "It's in my nature to be kind to everyone especially to those in need like yourself. There's only so much I can say and do to show my sincerity, the rest is up to you whether to believe me or not" she said softly. She had never felt so nervous in her whole life, and she was trying to figure out why. 'Perhaps because making friends has been so easy for me in the past that this new challenge and the thought of being rejected scares me' she thought to herself.
"Like I said before, if you truly believe I will do you harm or that I'm distracting you so that someone else will, you're able to leave whenever you wish. I don't want to cause you any more distress" her voice becoming a bit softer than before but still audible. She began to fiddle with the hem of her skirt out of nervousness, wondering what he could possibly be thinking right now. "I promise that I will respect whatever you choose to do. Whether it's believing in me or running away" she added, her eyes never once leaving his own.

Rein moved forward slightly, on his hands and feet like an odd over sized rabbit which he was in some sense. He stopped a few feet from her still on his feet as before ready to spring if need be but his curiosity was getting the better of him. The woman was the nicest he had met since, well as long as his new memory would go.
There was something interesting about her, the fact that she hadn't treated him like all those others. Well there was the and the fact she talked quite a bit, something Rein didn't much see the need for. Why did others rely so much on words? Where they really that useful? His tail flickered at the thought, it just wasn't reasonable. The worst part of it all was that he was starting to fall for her words.
He closed his eyes and shook his head trying to get those crazy thoughts to leave. Though even with that he took another odd hop forward now intent on watching her. "You're," he paused trying to think of the right way to say it, "You are odd." As if he had any right to tell that to someone when he was the way he was but she just seemed so odd to him. She giggled softly when he mentioned she was odd. She was glad he was at least relaxing a bit around her. "Well, I suppose I am a bit odd though I do hope it's considered a good thing" she said softly, her smile becoming a bit wider as she drew closer to her. "You're the first person I've met since I've come in here so I'm really excited about that you're beginning to talk to me, and haven't run yet." She was almost like a little kid exploring the world for the first time, and in a way she was.
For several hundreds of years, she had been living in her realm with her siblings, and once she got summoned here, she was kept in the lab. Now that she was able to be out and about, she wanted to take advantage of that, and make as many friends as possible. "So, may I ask you what your name is? It'd be nice to know" she said softly.
She was doing her best to restrain herself. She would usually be a super bubbly and overly friendly, but she knew that in this case it wouldn't be wise. 'All it would do is scare him, I'd rather not do that' she thought. "So, what is it you like to do in your free time?" she asked, wanting to make some conversation with the young man.

"Rein," he said simply going back into those one word answers. He may have not be as afraid of her now but he still didn't see the need to rely on words. They were so restricting, they could be taken so many different ways or misused and misheard. Rein just refused to let them take over him, but still he was always required to talk if he wanted to be heard at all.
This woman for some reason it reminded him of something, something that his mind had closed off from him. Something that was lost when the rabbit was gained. His eyes flickered over her again trying to remember what was so close and yet so far to him.
Then she asked what he did in his free time, it was one of thefew things that hadn't been lost with his change. Rein hoped back a bit before he started running his fingers over the packed earth. His fingers moved quickly though his eyes were more on her then what he was working on until he finally came to an end. Her face would have looked better if he had had paper but out here this is all he had to work with. "That," he answered pointing to the portrait he had made of her in the dirt. "Rein, that's very nice name" she said softly, glad to finally know the name of the rabbit boy she had been speaking to. What made her feel even better was seeing that he was not all wound up like before. When he began to draw, her eyes widened. She had only seen such talent from her little sister, Simiel. 'He's really good' she thought as she watched him point to the picture.
"So, you make art. My younger sister does that as well" she said with a smile, scooting a bit closer, avoiding ruining the picture he drew. "You know, where I live there is a lot of paper and pencils. Maybe if you'd like to meet again, I can bring them with me if you want me to that was" she said, stumbling over her words a bit which made her cheeks flush in embarrassment. She never had trouble talking yet with this person, it was near impossible to talk.
'Can you blame him Raph, he's been through so much and who knows how much he remembers' she thought to herself. "What types of things do you usually draw? Is it portraits like this or do you draw other things" she asked softly, wondering if she'd get more than a one word answer this time.

He gave a slight smile to her though he was still unsure, that rabbit instinct unwilling to let him relax. Rein looked at the portrait he did of her in the dirt, he honestly didn't know himself that well but he knew that that was different from his usual works. You could call it a physical memory more than a mental one, but it just seemed different to him somehow.
Rein looked back at her and then at the dirt portrait again as if trying to figure out something that this mind would never let him access. "Really?" he asked when she had mentioned paper. Paper would be much easier then scrapping around on the ground like a fool. Plus it would be a lot easier if you didn't have to worry about stepping on your own work.
"Whatever I see," he replied simply pointing to his left eye. He may not talk much but that didn't mean he was without a personality able to joke, at least a bit now, about his own faults. It had been a while since that eye had been of any real use than filling the spot, but it wasn't all a joke. Rein's artwork were more of a combination of reality and fiction at least they had been so far. I Know These Habits Hurt
