Roxanne felt her heart grow heavy as she once more stepped back into the lab. She couldn't stand this place, but she had to be here along with her siblings because they were summoned by 'that man' to do his bidding. 'Yet why do I doubt he really did? He's no witch' she thought with a frown on her face, and her brows knitting in thought. She had been summoned before many a time by practitioners of white magic yet she didn't sense any from their master. 'Why doesn't it bother them? Are they blind to his lack of magic?' her thoughts continued.
She wasn't sure what was worse, her siblings being truly ignorant or knowingly doing the bidding of such a man with a dark heart. Though maybe she was judging him too quickly, and perhaps her siblings saw something she didn't. 'After all, I am one of the younger siblings, perhaps my older ones can see he is a good person' she thought, her optimism shining through.
She smiled as she reached their quarters. They had an entire part of the lab for them to live in. Though they each had their separate bedrooms for privacy, there was a common room where they could all be together. She opened the door to reveal a simple yet slightly plush lounging area. She sat down in her chair which was colored a light violet, one of her favorite colors. She was a bit sad that none of her siblings were here, but at least she could relax a bit here even try her hardest to forget her doubts that have been filling her head.

But it wasn't unheard of for witches to hide their true nature, so perhaps that's what this was. And this was being done for the good of humanity, of course, so he was here to lend his hand. Of course, he was doing much more work here than he ever had under any other witch.
Of course, the witches that had summoned them (rare as it was, for he had never known of more than five witches in existance in the world at once, and even that had been a millenia ago), had been practioners of light magic, so to think a dark magic witch had summoned them was crazy talk.
And his siblings agreed with him-- still, to have to guide so many souls to the afterlife in this place was hard for him. he didn't know why they were surrounded by so much death. Leythal allowed his human appearance to fall- which didn't really change how he looked, only would give him a brightened appearance and his wings back. Ah, his wings, Sariel had beautiful pristine white wings.
They were his pride- his only thing he considered of value on himself aside from his chasity and voice. He had the most beautiful voice in heaven, or so he had been told over and over. All of the virtues were able to sing, but his only talent left him singing exceptionally well. He couldn't say he had a talent otherwise. Raphael could make friends with anyone. Gabriel was the best fighter there was. Simiel was artistic and painted exceptionally well. Michael could open up communication to even the most closed minded person. Uriel... well, Sariel would have to get back to you on her talent, though he supposed that her curiousity did live her the most knowledgable.
Yes, they were all exceptional, so yes, he was a virgin, but plenty of virgins had talent- his just lay in his voice.
Which is why he was humming as he sprang forward to land facedown on the couch. "Why are you so down, Roxanne?" he asked his sister, grabbing a pillow and holding it to his chest as he watched her with his ice-blue eyes.

Gabriel strode into the common room, almost immediately shedding his homunculi form. It was like taking off a uncomfortable layer of plastic, or something equally as annoying. He didn't feel attached to it, even though it's features were resemblant to those his true form. He didn't care for it, and honestly would rather draw attention to himself than to be forced to wear that weak, lab grown pile of skin, muscles, tendons and bones in order to appear normal.
And in his Angele form Gabriel seemed much more intimidating that the image his human skin projected. It could have been the fact that his eyes were almost white and his body seemed to give off a certain light, or it could have been the huge, two tiered wings that were sprouting from his back.
Seeing his brother and sister here as well he sat down on one of the couches, giving Sariel a smile and turning towards his sister. Leaning forward and quirking an eyebrow, "Raphael you seem..down." He hadn't gotten used to (and quite frankly almost refused) to their human names. There had been only few incidences where he had done such and even though Sariel had referred to her as 'Roxanne', Gabriel wasn't going to.
They were the Angele, the Virtues and their true names were beautiful and powerful.

As she noticed two bright glowing figures come into the room, she could tell it was her brothers, Sariel and Gabriel that had shed their human forms. She closed her eyes, and did the same. Her golden hair had grown to her mid back, turning white, wavy with some curls at the bottom. When she opened her eyes they were an icy blue like Sariel's as she glanced at both of her older brothers.
"My dearest brothers, I've been thinking a lot" she said softly, her voice not the chipper tone that it usually was, but very gloomy and forlorn. This would be the first time she told her siblings this, and she was very scared what they would think of her. Still, the silence of not speaking out was slowly eating at her, and it was too much to bear.
"Is what these people doing really the right thing?" she asked, her voice shaking a bit, "I refuse to believe that anything that causes such suffering in innocent people is for anything good. Besides, our master has no magic that can be sensed." Her whole body was trembling, trying her hardest to keep herself together as she remembered the look in the eyes of the experiments she encountered, the pain of being attacked by a few, and the loneliness she could see in their eyes.
"It's too much, the pain that I can sense from them. No good can come from this or our association with that man" she said, snapping towards the end. She had never in her long life felt any dislike towards anyone, but their master, he frightened her with the sheer amount of well....she wasn't sure what, but it defiantly didn't sit well with the young angel. She braced herself for a lecture from either one of them for being so foolish when she noticed another sibling enter the common room.

This place seemed neverending in its monotony. No matter where you went in this building apart from their rooms, it was the white of a hospital, a sickly ill feeling leeching from the very walls. There was too much of it. Too much white. Nathaniel had gotten up from his room intending to take a small stroll to spread his legs, but the colorless surroundings just had him feeling more contained than before, and he soon ended up back where he had started. Some walk.
He opened the door to three shining figures in the common room, sitting in a group on the chairs. A grin appeared on his face, delight evident. "Ah, brothers, sister," he said in greeting, his arms lifting slightly as if to embrace each of them. It didn't take long, however, for him to understand the tenor of emotions in the room. Raphael's eyes were already on him, and he saw pain in them. He lowered his arms and walked to them, letting his human appearance disappear to match his siblings, and taking his shirt off to accommodate the changes. He didn't necessarily share most of their distaste for their shells; on the contrary, he welcomed the gruff look. His angele form was considerably more beautiful, with smoother, unblemished skin and a light that seemed to radiate from his pores. And his wings. Large, impressive wings that sprouted from his shoulder blades. Every angel seemed to take pride in their wings, which was understandable. There was a reason why your wings would be clipped if you fell. But his human form allowed him a more masculine appearance, something he almost preferred in many cases.
Nathaniel took no shame in kneeling next to Raphael, setting his clothing down beside him and taking her hands in his. He let a smirk pull at his mouth. "Raphael, what's got your feathers in a knot?" he asked lightly, hoping for a smile. She was so sensitive and fragile; he had always felt more protective over her than the others. He figured it was probably a feeling shared amongst them. She could be too kind for her own good, sometimes.

this was never the way i planned..not. my. intention!
A spark ran up Uriel's spine, as she stirred in her sleep; She knew what it was; she had to awaken. She could fight against it, but the angele was smart enough to know there was no use. A yawn escaped her mouth, and her hands went impulsively to the sky, stretching as far as it's bones would let it. Same, old, mediocre day in the life opf this angele; but Uriel was always one to add a bit of fun, and a bit of excitement to an otherwise lackluster morning.
She shot blood trhough her back, attempting to flap wings that weren't there. Sighing, she remembered that she'd been given a homunculi by a 'scientist'. Yeah, right. She could smell the witch near the whole time, as the scientists made a feeble attempt to cover up the smell of magic that stood stagnant in the encased atmosphere of the lab. It didn't take an idiot to figure out that they weren't the ones who summoned them, and the angele of knowledge had it figured out in less than a few seconds. Smiling, she realized her brothers and sisters were probably discussing it with one another, their mouths agape and eyes wide as they slowly just wonderedif maybe it wasn't the scientist, the wicked Dr. Mudo, who had summoned them - Sometimes, she hated to be associated with her siblings, her were dim by comparison to her. Still, Uriel was one to keep her comments to herself, as soft-spoken as she seemed around her brothers and sisters, and it was much more amusing to her to leave them in their ignorance.
Slipping out of the soft blankets and onto the cold, marble floor, her eyes scanned her sickingly sterile surroundings. She could hear her siblings down the hall, and her heart jumped as she felt that familiar smell off sin stain her human form's skin. Out of all the archangele, Uriel was always the one who dabbled in the dark the most; It was a surpise she wasn't roasting over a steady flame in the darkest part of purgatory by now. With a flash of blindinf, white light, her angelic essense sprayed across the room as she switched forms; Her huge, ebony wings stretched their way across the room as light flooded into all the corners. Vision slowly came back to her, as her eyes adjusted to her true light. Her wings doing most of the work, she made her way down the hall to her brothers and sisters who were killing themselves with their foolish curiousity. Her palms punded together, as her claps filled the room. "Finally, my brothers and sisters, you are understanding it. It only took you a year to figure out.", she followed with a laugh, as she belittled her siblings. Taking a seat down next to kindness, her eyes saw right through all of them.i got so brave, drink in hand...lost. my. discretion!

. . it isn't too hard to see we're in heaven . . Paneul had been sitting quietly in the common room that was meant for all of his brothers and sisters to congregate. For the most part he had been keeping to himself, only looking up from his thick paperback novel with soft blue eyes whenever said something interesting enough to tear his attention away from it. It wasn't that he disliked the company of his siblings, in fact it was far from it. Paneul often didn't particularly care for a whole lot of attention on himself. So he sat crossed legged in a large chair, the book splayed out across his lap, blonde hair falling over his eyes as he leaned over the pages.
When his sister Raphael spoke up about her concerns, Paneul finally looked up from his book permanently. Gently, he pulled his bookmark off of the desk and pushed it against the spine of the book before closing it and setting it aside. Blue eyes watched his siblings in silence. He watched Gabriel and Sariel attempt to comfort their sister, attempting to think of something to respond with that wouldn't sound generic and Hallmark condolence card.
Paneul slid forward on the chair, offering Raphael a small smile of what he hoped was comfort, opening his mouth to speak. However, a rather obnoxious sound began to ring through out the room. Paneul tried his hardest not to visibly cringe when he heard Uriel's condescending statement. More often than not lately she had been slightly irritating and worrying him, but Paneul was also sure that she had probably been worrying everyone else just as much. His gaze swept across to Uriel now instead. "Please, Uriel, I hardly think your belittling comments are necessary right now.."
He paused, knowing full well that Uriel would probably have something smart to say in return. So Paneul decided that he wouldn't give her a chance. Immediately, he turned his words to Raphael. "Have faith, dear sister. I'm sure we will not be led astray from what is right." His smiled reached into his almond shaped eyes, sparkling at Raphael with reassurance.

There was Raphael, the sweet one. She was obviously worried right now for some reason. And then there was Gabriel, his brother with whom he was closest-- at least, that's how it seemed lately. They were spending a lot of time together. Michael was soon to follow- Sariel didn't have much of an opinion on him, but he wasn't on bad terms with his brother perse. Uriel, on the otherhand, made him bristle. There was something not quite right about her these days. Luckily Phanuel seemed to pick up on that right away-- there was a reason they were close. Simiel still wasn't there, but knowing the girl she was out painting flowers.
"Raphael... you're thinking too much into this. Perhaps this is for the greater good. Sometimes we must sacrifice in order to gain," he hated the pain, too, hated that he had so many souls that he had to guide into the after life. Raphael was right, it seemed wrong, but they have been told, repetitively, that this was going to help people and that's why it was so important that they cooperated. The witch wasn't here, he was comatose, the scientists had said, but this had been his will.
And they were supposed to carry out their master's will. Witches who were completely dark wouldn't have been able to summon them in the first place, so their master must have some good in him, Sariel thought. He furrowed his eyebrows while contemplating this theory, but not before stealing a glance at Gabriel and giving him a shy look. He wasn't trying to play favorites, but there really had been something odd with them lately. Ever since the day on the rocks, that was.

Roxanne wish she could smile at Michael and Panuel's attempts to comfort her yet all she could think of was what Uriel and Sariel had just said. She slowly stood up and walked away from her siblings so she could face all of them. "I can't figure out what's worse in all of this. Uriel's knowledge we serve a wicked man, Sariel's attempt to justify this suffering or everyone else's ignorance" she said softly though there was a bite to her words that was very out of character for the normally chipper young girl. "Have we all not seen such things happen before!? Humans doing horrible things yet trying to convince the world it's for the greater good!?" she continued, looking up at her siblings now as the volume of her voice increased.
She had never felt such a thing before. It was a fire burning in her veins that she was beginning to lose control of. Despite knowing that this feeling wasn't right, she couldn't help herself. "None of you have seen what I have. You don't see the pure agony, pain, and fear in the eyes of these people. I dare all of you to look in their eyes, and say this is all for the greater good" she yelled, slamming her fist into the wall leaving a dent and some blood behind.
Once she finally exploded, she felt herself calm down, a look of horror washing over her as she looked down at her injured hand which began to heal fairly quickly. After all she was the angel of healing. "I...I don't know what came over me, but I..." she couldn't really finish her thought. She leaned against the wall, sliding down until she reached the floor. More tears began to fall from her eyes despite her trying to keep them back. 'What's wrong with me? I've never snapped at my siblings or said anything bad to them?' she thought to herself, not daring to look any of her brothers or sister in the eyes right now.

A glare came to his pretty blue eyes and he watched his sister rant and rave with a disapproving look. "Are you done?" he asked, with a harsher than usual tongue. It seemed that the old Raphael was back-- it was rare to see her so upset, and he had been sympathetic towards her until she had accused him of being a bad person. He was an angele, and he wasn't evil.
"You cannot tell me that I haven't seen pain and agony, sister. You may go into these people's cells and try to get to know them, but it is I who passes judgment on their souls when they leave this world. You can be rest assured that the vast majority are now resting peacefully and not being tortured further in the realms of hell," Sariel was all but sneering his words at the girl. He usually got along so well with Raphael, too. They shared a lot in common, but for all of that, he was not immune getting upset with her.
The angele glanced around the room to observe his other siblings. He didn't know what Uriel's reaction would be, but he would assume amusement. It was hard to phase the angele of knowledge. "If you'll excuse me, I'm not going to stay in a room where my presence is not wanted," he bowed to the others before swiftly walking out of the common room into his own private room and shutting the door- though it was not locked, so any who might wish to check on him could. Of course... that's not why he left it unlocked, but none of their rooms had locks- one of the scientists precautions to ensure they were always accessible.

Simiel could sense that something was wrong between her siblings; something that shouldn’t be happening. Though she wasn’t physically there with her siblings she could tell that they were all gathered together, that they must be having one of their little meetings that she always seemed to be too late for. Simiel had a tendency to get to the family meeting when the family drama had already passed and she didn’t really have much else to do but leave again. Only this time was a little different.
This time Simiel packed up her art supplies and began to run through the forest of the island, run through the beach and the ponds and swamps to reach the secret lab that lie underneath the island itself. As per usual, when she walked through the drab building her mood shifted from being at peace to being in a moment of pure agony. She hated to be in the lab, she hated to be away from the beauty of nature. She really wanted to get back to painting.
Despite the feeling that began to overwhelm her she continued to walk through the building to find her way to their rooms. Especially the one that she could feel the most aura and presence of her siblings as she entered the room. The brightness of her siblings began blinding the eyes of her scientifically made homunculi, within seconds her homunculi had a splitting headache, and even though she split herself from that shell she loved so much as not to be blinded, the headache was still present. That certainly was unusual.
“Hello siblings,” she sat on the floor, placing her art supplies next to herself, a smile on her face. “What have I missed, so far?” She nodded an individual hello to each sibling, a smile on her face, knowing that something was up if Sariel was no longer present. But she could sense him.

. . it isn't too hard to see we're in heaven . . To say that Paneul was surprised at his sisters sudden outburst was an understatement to say the very least. His face remained calm in appearance, ocean blue eyes watching Raphael as she went off on her little tangent. Paneul had expected for Raphael to at least have the decency to not yell at her siblings. All of us had the intentions of doing what was right, and to be yelled at in such a manner was completely uncalled for. However, he simply looked at her with disapproval.
"Raphael, please try to hold your temper in check, alright? I understand your concerns, but your fellow brothers and sisters have nothing personally to harm you and I think we deserve a little respect." What was Paneul, the responsible mature one? Either way, he didn't like being lashed out at. After a few moments of considering his own words, however, his expression and his voice softened. "I'd like to think of myself as rather intelligent, not ignorant."
Paneul sighed softly, looking down at his lap as blond hair spilled over his face. He really didn't like it when his siblings were butting heads like this. The angele glanced up as he heard Simiel enter the room, nodding a small greeting towards her. "You've missed a lot, dear sister." With that, Paneul rose to his geet. Sariel seemed quite hurt at Raphael's words and Paneul wanted to check on him. Quietly, he excused himself from the common room.
Paneul made his way down the hallway, stopping in front of Sariel's room. He knew the door was unlocked, but Paneul was much too polite to just walk in. Instead, he knocked softly. "Sariel? It's Paneul, are you alright?"

this was never the way i planned..not. my. intention!
Uriel's heart skipped a beat as she heard the girl's harsh words, suprised to hear such words of utter contempt spew out of her mouth like a dragon's fire. Was it possible, to say that this genuinely surprised the supposedly all-knowing angele of knowledge? Though others wouldn't let their ego get the best of them, all the girl could do was smile, after the shock had worn-off, of course. She knew why she was suddenly so ignorant, so flabbergasted by her sister's words; it honestly hurt her to admit she had done anything wrong, but she had. Sure, Uriel knew everything about this world, and a few others, but only because she had good focus and had spent so long with it, being the third eldest. While she pursued more and more knowledge in the relentless and powerful grip curiosity had on her, it never occurred to the angele that she had turned the blind eye to her siblings, not only a dangerous choice, but a foolish one for anyone on a quest for knowledge. Her brothers, her sisters, were little wonders of their own, no natter how boring they may seem, they had secrets and tales just like anyone. Uriel quickly decided that she shouldn't take them for granted anymore, for they were precious little books; more secrets to discover in this world.
These glorious new thoughts in her head flourished, bloomed like flowers in the spring! So many wonderful ideas filled her mind as her outlook seemed to change, and she felt as if her skin was being warmed by the summer rays as she drifted off into her dreamworld. Unfortuantely, that's all it was when she returned; A dream, shattered like a broken mirror by the first ring of Sariel's heavenly voice, and it may as well have been nails grating themselves down a chalkboard, for it made her blood curl just the same. The same old speeches, just now with a twist of anger....Usually, she would've indulged in this bit of chaos and suprising behavior of her siblings, but Sariel went on, as she ignored every word that left the angele's mouth, simply awaiting the slam of the door that she could see coming. The angele stormed of, her brother in a fit, and she refused to pay him any mind. Whiny bitch, she thought in her head with a hiss, knowing she was safe in her thoughts atleast. Her siblings, she knew they spoke words ebhind her back, even though they knew it was no use. They thought she was vain, prideful; While she couldn't deny this, there was no doubt about it, that Sariel was no more than an attention-seeking whore. In her eyes, anyways. But like everyday, she'd wear a smile, get over herself, and let the boy pour his heart out to her, despite not giving a shit. Patience; She seemed to dance aorund her virtue, and came ever-so-close to breaking it. But she never would, stuck within these boundaries.
Panuel was no better, peeking over his book to toss in a word that wasn't wanted. It sickened her how much they were alike, honestly, and out of all of them, Panuel still seemed to be the hardest to figure out. There was something about him that didn't sit quite right with her, a certain suspicion; While wasn't founded on, such as the feelings she got from Gabriel when he was around Sariel, that pure sexual tension, it was somehow much stronger. She wasn't sure why, but she had come to blame it on jealousy. It didn't feel right to have someone constantly challenging her intelligence, and she had actual fear that he would be able to compete. Normally, this would be met with a rolling of eyes by the prideful angele, but that was only because she knew it wasn't true. Now...now she wasn't so sure.
She was drawn back into reality as the voice of Sariel filled her ears, and a warm smile went across her lips. She was waiting for the girl to come; She had to say, she liked the girl a bit more, as annoying she could be at times. To her, she was even kindof ditzy, and oblivious to this all, a trait she used toshare with Raphael, but not as of late. Patting the seat next to her, with Raphael long absent from her place, she motioned her to sit beside her. "So much, sister...", she smiled, through batted eyelashes, trying to put back on her fake persona of kindess as the child came back in.i got so brave, drink in hand...lost. my. discretion!

He didn't value or respect the angele's opinion, but perhaps it was because in a way, they were too alike. Both of them were prideful, and it seemed they couldn't co-exist in the same room even if they had yet to actually confront their negative emotions. But Sariel was put off with Raphael more than anyone. He didn't know why he had deserved her rage, why any of them had, really. They were working for their master and doing what they could to ease the suffering of these beings.
Perhaps he had become desensitized to death over time. He had seen so much of it, and on a much grander scale than this. Wars and mortal tragedy were all too common, and he had to pass judgment on these souls whilst helping them find the afterlife. It was a hard task, and it wore on him, but it was what he was born to do, and thus he did so as happily as he could.
He looked up when he heard the knock and Paneul's voice. "Brother.." he sighed with a soft smile on his face. "You may come in," he would be happy to see a friendly face at this point. Our of all of the angele, he got along the best with Paneul. Though his relationship with Gabriel was questionably just as close-- he just had a bond with Paneul, and he was happy that the other was checking on him. At least he care enough to see if he was alright.
Sariel sighed and folded his wings. "I didn't mean to storm off like that.... but it wasn't right of her to yell so accusingly at us and tell us that we didn't see the pain and suffering around us."

. . it isn't too hard to see we're in heaven . . As soon as he was given permission to enter, Paneul opened the door slowly. His ocean blue eyes fell upon Sariel instantly, a soft expression written all over his face. The angele of exorcism entered the room, closing the door quietly behind him. Paneul crossed the room to stand next to his brother, placing what he hope was a comforting hand on the other's shoulder. Sariel was right. It wasn't okay for Raphael to yell at them, but Paneul knew that he had to keep his calm in situations like this. If for nothing else than to be a good brother and a solid rock for Sariel.
"I agree with you, brother.. but you must realize and understand that Raphael is just upset. It doesn't make it alright for her to take it out on us, but she is distraught. I think perhaps we should give her a little slack and our support." Moving his hand away from his brothers shoulder, Paneul took a seat on a chair that sat off to the side. His gaze lifted up to Sariel, offering a smile.
Paneul couldn't exactly put his finger on why he felt the closest to Sariel out of all of his brothers and sisters. When it came right down to it, he supposed it didn't matter. Some things just didn't need to be questioned. Paneul was thankful for the friend he had in Sariel. The angele placed his hands on his lap, his legs close together. Most of the time he didn't like to wear clothing, as was often the case with a lot of angele, but that didn't mean he was about to display himself to Sariel unabashedly.
"Please don't be upset with Raphael. We have more pressing issues to worry about other than our little squabbles." He paused, his smile turning a little playful. "Like a cup of tea. Or some cookies."
