It gave Esther some relief that Jenkins left the thought of her family as a side note, not trying to go in depth. It wasn't anything that was too secret as it was in her own medical files, but it was something she preferred not to get into so early in the morning when all of her guard was down, the young woman keeping most of her true self behind a wall of childish mannerism and jokes.
When Jenkin's mood seemed to so quickly changed she looked back at him surprised. She listened to him, giving a small sigh as spoke of death and how he wanted his own work to come out as. She heard the others talk like this in the past, and it sent a small chill down her spine to hear it. She understood what he meant, but perhaps her own wanderings above had made her too soft. She saw some people there who reminded her of siblings, of friends back home...but it was so far away and she could never tell them what she knew. "I understand that Jenkins, I think slowing down would do us better, taking more time before trying to achieve some final result.' Her voice was soft, gentle as if attempting to sooth the other who seemed to have suddenly changed.
Money, she stopped her poking around at this. He said he'd started off like her, but now...
She shook her head before looking at him, her gaze meeting his. "We can't expect any money for this Jenkins, even if we discover something you can't sell progress." Her argument wasn't stern, but displeasure was in her voice at the thought of all this work could be for a few people to make it big. She didn't want to argue really, but she felt the few hours of sleep tugging on her, emotions coming easily out, "Maybe you need to look into that first before you go around and do anything more to these experiments. Get your own head figured out before you go any further with this." She held up the piece of paper they'd shared, writing down ideas, doodling upon as they chatted and ate.
Setting it back down on the desk she gritted her teeth. If we aren't working towards something important to us then there isn't a point I would think."

“It is funny, you say that. Because in reality I could sell it now, if I were to get off the island.” He was not speaking lies, it was true, so many countries would bid like crazy for a piece of the puzzle. Just think about it. He was selling a recipe for the perfect soldier and who would not want a part of the action. David looked at the women for a brief moment, giving her a smile. It was a shame that he changed so much in his time with Mudo. He went from a care free boy from England who loved riding horses and spending time with his family, to actually be a complete ass, who only cared about a few things.
Getting closer to the women he spoke to her. “It truly will be a matter of time before we all end up on the tables. I will do what I am told by Mudo till he gets tired of doing this and decides to release us, from here.” He said with a smile coming to his face. “And then, only then will we all truly know what we did and gained.” He said. The statement was confusing to him, hopefully she got the message.
David walked over to the trash with plate in hand and dropped it in. He was not hungry, he was tired and the paper she was holding was not helping in matters. She wanted him to get better before they, he went to the top of the island. That was not happening, he did not want to wait he wanted to see what was so great about the top portion. He wanted to get to know his previous test subjects, in hopes of him finding a way to turned them human looking.
"Besides, not knowing if I can fix the past mistakes is kind of hard on me." He said, the statement came out of left field and it seemed to be a few minutes to late, from what he figured.
